Tehran University President in China

TEHRAN (FNA)- President of Tehran University Farhad Rahbar arrived Saturday morning to hold talks with senior officials of China's major universities on promotion of bilateral academic cooperation.



During his five-day visit to China, Rahbar will visit several universities including the Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Tsinghua University.

He is also to attend a meeting with professors and students of the Persian Language course at the Beijing University.

Rahbar is scheduled to meet with Iranian students in China to become closely familiar with their views and their problems, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

Tehran University signed letters of understanding for promotion of bilateral cooperation with some 140 universities worldwide.

Prior to the China visit, Rahbar was in Malaysia and Japan to discuss bilateral academic ties with the officials of the two countries.
