Assembly of Experts By-Election to Be Held June 12

TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian Interior Ministry announced on Tuesday that the Assembly of Experts' by-election in Tehran and Golestan provinces will be held simultaneously with the presidential election on June 12.

The registration for candidates will start on April 2 and will continue for 6 days, MNA reported.

Assembly of Experts is constitutionally tasked to elect the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution and supervise his performance.

Assembly of Experts representatives are elected for eight-year terms in a general election.

The current Assembly of Experts is the fourth since the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
