Commander: IRGC to Confront Enemies in All Fronts

TEHRAN (FNA)- Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour underlined on Tuesday that the IRGC will confront any enemy move or plot against the Islamic Republic.

"The IRGC will not allow agents of the world arrogance to hatch a plot or to strike the principles of the Revolution in any front," General Pakpour said, addressing a gathering of IRGC forces in Tabriz, northwestern Iran.

"The deployment of IRGC forces in border areas is the greatest obstacle in the way of the world arrogance and their affiliates and the IRGC has disturbed enemy equations and estimates in all arenas and fronts," he added.

He further stressed full preparedness of IRGC forces, and said, "We, as guardians of the Revolution, enjoy the required (level of) preparedness to defuse the plots and threats of the enemies in all grounds."

The Iranian commander also underlined the necessity for the IRGC to identify enemy plots for the soft overthrow of the Islamic establishment, describing it as a top mission of the IRGC.

Earlier in February, IRGC Commander Major General Mohammad Ali Jaffari had said that Iran should prepare itself to fight against the enemies' threats of soft regime change, noting "The nature of the threats to the Islamic Republic has changed in comparison with the past and Basij (volunteer forces) and IRGC should prepare themselves more than before."
